EDITORS COMMENT: How nice is this? Created primarily to take on BSA’s Victor 441 at the encouragement of Ducati’s American importer in the late 1960s, Ducati’s 450 Scrambler was the high point in an evolution that started in 1962 with 250cc and 350cc variants. By 1969, the push for a bigger piston was too much to resist. The 450 was manufactured from 1969 to 1974, making this  beautiful bike of Ross’s one of the early ones. The Scrambler of the 1970s was mostly a road bike with dirt bike styling  (although the later 450R/T boasted some off-road success). Both the Scrambler name and design brief were reincarnated by Ducati in 2015. We know which one we’d prefer in our shed — this one! Learn more here.
